How to stretch shoes that are too narrow

Use simple shoe stretching tools. In addition to stretching your footwear , you need to help your toes to get back to their natural state of separation. These tools can stretch your shoes both lengthwise and widthwise.

Once you’re done, try on the shoes. If they are still tight, reinsert the stretcher and give its knob a few more turns until the shoes are resized to your comfort. Unzip both bags and place one inside the other.

Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into an empty spray bottle. Put on a thick pair of socks (or as thick as will fit!). Make sure that the heel block is also within the shoe. Insert the toe block into the toe box of your shoe. Keep the socks and shoes on until the leather cools.

Test out the shoes without socks , and repeat if necessary until they’re comfortable. Wear heavy socks to break in the shoes for a few days. Before putting them on, use a hairdryer to heat them, then bend them back and forth.

If the shoes are still too tight , dampen socks and stuff them into the shoes.

Let them sit until everything is dry. You can speed up the stretching process for leather shoes using. Method 2: Use the freezer method. Put your shoes in the freezer? For leather shoes , try stretching them out with a hair dryer.

The thicker the socks are, the more your shoes will stretch. Fill ziploc bags with water and then put the bags in your shoes. Leave in the freezer overnight.

The expansion of water as it turns to ice should help to expand your shoes. Put on some damp nylons or thick socks and wear your shoes around the house. Fill up a couple of zipper-secure freezer bags with water, about a cup each. Stretch out your shoes to make them more comfortable.

Slide the bags into the toes of your boot. The water will freeze, expand and stretch your shoes. Just place them in the areas that are causing the most discomfort, turn the bar and leave overnight.

In fact all my boots (non lace) I get slightly narrow and stretch myself as part of the break in! Get a set of shoe stretchers, wet the shoe, stretch , wear - repeat. Go slow and you will get the perfect fit!

For a shoe that is too tight all over, put on a pair of socks. You can also put on two pairs of socks, then three etc. The tighter your shoes , the thicker the socks! Soak the socks thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.

Put on 1-pairs of thick socks (as many as you can wear while still being able to put on the boots), then put on your boots and walk around in them for minutes at a time. After running marathons Im JUST realizing that these shoes are a little too snug on my right foot and I think its the source of a recent injury (right side of foot is KILLING). I tried ASICS last year and they were WAY too narrow too.

The best way to prevent this is to apply a layer of leather conditioner to soften the stiff leather fibers, allowing you to easily stretch the shoes.
