Alberta ballet auditions

Alberta Ballet is looking for boys and girls, minimum age of eight at the time of the performances. Its performance season runs from September through to May. Auditions – No photo is required for any auditions.

Students en pointe should bring their pointe shoes. Boys wear black tights, black or white ballet slippers, and a black or white fitted t-shirt. Ticket sales account for only of the true cost of sustaining a company the size of Alberta Ballet. Come see for yourselves the Alberta ballet School difference.

Items to apply for a private audition: 1. Participation in the Summer Intensive can act as an audition for our Professional Division programs. For more information, please visit their website. Applicants must be dancers with strong, classical ballet technique and have performing experience with a professional company.


Details for both can be found here. Born in Hull, PQ, he began his dance training at York University in Toronto and continued at Montreal’s L’École Supérieure de Danse du Québec. He later danced with Ballet British Columbia and Theatre Ballet of Canada.

Dancers entering Grade and up are invited to audition for the School of Alberta Ballet’s Summer Intensive – a three-week-long program that can be taken as summer experience, or as stage of the audition for entry to the full-year Professional Division program. Our Professional Division season is September – June. Ballet Edmonton is a small, professional ballet company. We are committed to creating diverse programming and look for dancers who enjoy exploring all the possibilities of ballet.


A strong background is classical ballet is essential and auditions are held year-round. Ballet BC is looking for talente female and male graduates who have completed a professional training program to join the Ballet BC Emerging Artist Program.

It was such a pleasure to hear the very talented Grade student Matthew Bryce on the piano this morning while he waited for his morning dance class to start.


We are so very fortunate to be surrounded by such artistic and academic talent each day here at the School of Alberta Ballet. Hearing Matthew play this new holiday classic was a real treat. BBASI auditions are a great opportunity to meet Program staff and learn about the different programs.


Dancers should treat the audition as a class and try their individual best. BBASI staff respect that dancers come from different training backgrounds, are on different levels, and vary in age. Formerly the Ballet of the Zurich City Theatre, the company was shaped by its directors Nicholas Beriozoff, Patricia Neary, Uwe Scholz and Bernd Bienert.
